Almost as long as I can remember, at least since I started reading video game magazines, E3 have had a special meaning to me. E3 is the super mega large Electronic Entertainment Expo that mostly happens at the beginning of the summer. This huge expo where new games and hardware is presented is always put forward as the most important one by the video game industry, and even though it is too much at once for some people, it is hard to deny that a lot of cool games are revealed at the expo, if not the week before now-a-days.
The bad thing with E3 is that it is just for the press and the industry, but that is no big drawback though, since you can experience a lot of the happenings on millions of game sites with in-depth reports, interviews and live streams of most of the presentations.
As I mentioned above, a lot of the things that will be revealed at E3 is usually “leaked” or openly previewed the weeks before the show. I guess there are many reasons for this; one can be that some companies fear that their products will drown among all the myriads of games and hardware that are presented at the show. I for one try to avoid all these previews in order to be overwhelmed when I see the presentations.
E3 have been the avenue where a lot of cool stuff have been revealed in the past and I have high hopes for this year also. I am hoping for some nice games for the coming Wii U, some glimpses of Microsoft´s and Sony´s coming hardware, although most people think they will not reveal any hardware this year. And of course, a lot of games, hopefully many new concepts and not only the 10th sequels to recent years’ blockbusters. Let the flood of games wash over us!
